Sign up for the 2025 homeschool prom below!

Please read the following general rules and guidelines for all events before signing up.

Our general rule is that events and their activities may not parade the sin of an independent and immoral lifestyle, promote the way of folly, or arouse lust and discontentment (see most of the proverbs). Stated positively, the events and activities held at our house must be held in a way that glorifies God and promotes the health and unity of the attendees (Romans 12:18). Therefore, events should be inclusive and be cognizant of the attendee's conscience, giving preference, where possible, to those people whose conscience may be weaker (1 Corinthians 8:10). Events are not required to be Christian. However, this is the basis from which we draw out rules.

Some guidelines can be drawn from this statement:
  1. Dress should be full coverage and modest (no skin above the knee or below the armpits, straps on dresses, these straps must adequately cover undergarments; 1 Timothy 2:9-10, 1 Corinthians 12:23) and avoid offensive words and designs.
  2. Dancing should be done in a way that would be appropriate to perform with a bother or sister (no romantic dancing, simulated sexual dancing, or placing hands in areas that would be inappropriate for a man or woman to do to another man or woman's spouse; 1 Timothy 5:1-2, 2 Timothy 2:22).
  3. Media and activities should not glorify sin (drinking, drugs, rebellion, murder, cheating, sex, homosexuality, or the sexualization of women; Romans 12:9, Psalm 101:3, Philippians 4:8). It should also avoid awakening love before its due season (Song of Solomon 8:1). It should have minimal cursing, with none being the preference.

A few guidelines that exist because it's our home:
  1. Events must be hosted and led by a member of a church in good standing over 30. If an event involves youth under 20, it must be co-led/overseen by a parent with a child in the same age range as the event who also meets the previous requirements. Book/Bible studies are generally exempt from the age requirement.
  2. For parties and dances, there is a requirement of 1 chaperone per 6 attendees with a minimum of 3. Chaperones must be members of a church in good standing and at least 30 years old.
  3. No Alcohol or drugs
  4. Media, activities, and chaperones must be presented beforehand to verify their qualifications and may, as necessary, be shown to others for counsel.
